Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson's new album Piece By Piece is set to earn the highest debut on next week's Billboard 200 chart. Industry sources suggest the album, which was released March 3 through RCA Records, might move around 90,000 album equivalent units in the week ending March 8.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Billboard 200's top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, March 11.

It's too early to tell if Clarkson will debut at No. 1, as the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack might stand in its way. In the week ending March 1, the Fifty Shades album earned 108,000 units (down just 35 percent from the week previous).

Even if Clarkson doesn't start at No. 1, a top 10 start is essentially a lock. It would give the pop star her seventh top 10 effort. All five of her previous studio sets have reached the top three rungs, while she collected another top 10 with the Christmas album Wrapped in Red (debuting and peaking at No. 3).

Other albums on course for significant debuts on the next Billboard 200 including Brandi Carlile's The Firewatcher's Daughter (with perhaps 30,000 units) and Third Day's Lead Us Back: Songs of Worship (25,000 units).
